Fun Events in April & May



Are you ready for all this?

At library events, you get more than mere entertainment. You get some life-enriching stuff, for instance: A better understanding of your world, a plethora of solid resources, an eyeful of beautiful art.


1. Coloring for Adults

Farmville-PE: 2nd Saturday @ 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Are you looking for a new way to relax? Come join us as we listen to some soothing music, dim the lights and color our stress away. All materials will be provided although you are welcome to bring your own supplies.


2. Beginner Computer Classes

Buckingham: Every Wednesday @ 10:30 a.m.

Farmville-PE: Every Tuesday @ 10:30 a.m. | Every Thursday @ 6:00 p.m.

Get connected with free technology classes at Central Virginia Regional Library! We offer a wide range of hands-on technology training at both of our locations and we're adding new classes soon. These classes are geared towards the absolute beginner so no one is too inexperienced!


3. Game On @ the Library

Farmville-PE: Every Monday @ 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Teens can spend every Monday evening playing games on the library's Wii U or you can bring your own console and games. Tables will be available for card games. Snacks provided.


4. Tween Movie

Farmville-PE: Every Thursday @ 4:00 p.m.

Hey 9-12 year're invited to movie day here at the the library! Bring your own snacks and enjoy a different movie every week.


5. Family Story Time

Buckingham: Every Thursday @ 10:30 a.m.

Farmville-PE: Every Friday @ 10:30 a.m.

Join us for read alouds and songs for all ages! The librarian will share favorite, new and seasonal stories followed by a simple craft.


6. Poem in Your Pocket Day

Both branches and throughout the Towns of Farmville and Dillwyn

Come celebrate Poem in Your Pocket Day by selecting a poem, carrying it with you, and sharing it with others throughout the library. Poems will also be available at local businesses around Farmville and Dillwyn.


7. Tween Craft

Farmville-PE: 4th Tuesday @ 4:00-5:00 p.m. | Ages 9-12

Come on out to the library and make a fun, simple craft. All materials provided and no registration is required. Just drop by and have fun!


8. Coding for Teens

Farmville-PE: 1st Monday @ 5:00 p.m | Ages 13-18

If you've ever wanted to learn how to write computer software, you can now register for a free one-hour class at our Farmville-Prince Edward Library. These classes will aim to demystify computer science for teens by taking them through introductory tutorials on topics like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and others. No experience required. Call 434-392-6924 to register.


9. Books Into Movies

Farmville-PE: 1st Tuesday @ 4:00 p.m. | Ages 13-18

Teens, enjoy watching your favorite books brought to film! We'll be playing it on our big screen with popcorn and drinks provided. In April we'll be watching If I Stay and in May, Mazerunner: The Scorch Trials.


10. Teen Craft

Farmville-PE: 2nd Saturday @ 1:00-4:00 p.m. | Ages 13-18

Geek out at the library with these fun and easy-to-do crafts. In April we'll be making an assortment of duct tape crafts from wallets to flowers to bow ties and more! You can also challenge yourself and show off your creative side by making whatever you want. In May discover the fun of origami with an upcycled twist, using paper cut from old and damaged books. Traditional paper will also be provided. All materials provided.
